Ramadhan in Zanzibar
Dear Guest,
Welcome to the Paradise Island of Zanzibar. At this time of the year, majority of Zanzibaris who are Muslims are fasting their holy month of Ramadhan. They do not eat, drink or smoke from sunrise (6:00 am) to sunset (18:30 hrs). It is forbidden and considered very offensive when you eat, drink or smoke in public places. In addition to this, kindly ensure that you are well covered with appropriate clothing. For women, arms to your knees and men the same. This will be for a period of one month. (FROM 2ND OF SEPTEMBER TO 1ST OF OCTOBER)
Enjoy the sun, sand and the culture of Zanzibar.
