Mozambique:
Pelican Air has announced the cancellation of their return flight Johannesburg / KMIA / Inhambane; due to weak demand coupled with the costly increase in jet-fuel. The last flight from Johannesburg to Inhambane will be 23 June 2008. Passengers who have confirmed bookings and paid for the Inhambane route will receive a full refund from Pelican Air. Daily flights from Vilanculos to Johannesburg continue as normal.
Zanzibar: 19 June 2008
Great news on the Zanzibar Power Issue. Mr Norberg, General Manager of the Fairmont Zanzibar has advised that power has been restored in Zanzibar, "After 28 very bizarre and trying days, the power was finally restored to the island of Zanzibar this afternoon. We were able to shut off the generator without any issues.”
