To maintain Frégate Island’s tranquillity and beauty without impacting the delicate balance of its ecosystem, Frégate Island Private voluntarily restricts itself to just sixteen 185m villas. Using traditional materials such as native mahogany and African teak in a simple post-and-lintel style, the villas are topped off with dense thatched roofs. Both the architecture and decor draw on Balinese and Thai influences. Fourteen of the villas sit on top of the cliffs with panoramic views over the Indian Ocean. Two more nestle in their own private tropical gardens, and these are particularly good choices for families vacationing with young children.

Villa Descriptions

1 bedroom villa (300 – 400 m²)
One bedroom villa with separate bedroom and lounge, 1 big bathroom and 1 small bathroom, inside shower, 2 outside showers, large vanity area, generous private sundeck and private lap pool and jacuzzi. Day bed pavilion and dining pavilion. Private golf  buggy for each villa. Each villa offers a king size bed, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, personal safe, flat screen TV, DVD/CD player, wireless internet access, Nespresso coffee machine /tea making facilities and mini bar. Convertible sofa beds available in lounge for the children.  Private butler service.

2 bedroom villa (500 m²)
Villas 3 and 15 will be offered as 2 bedroom villas. Same facilities as above plus 1 extra bedroom with a bathroom and 1 indoor and 1 outdoor shower.

Wireless, book and music library, sunrise coffee service, full breakfast on the Frégate dining terrace, or continental breakfast in your villa, afternoon tea service, telephone, fax modem (on request), nightly turn-down service, daily news highlights.

Fregate House Restaurant (International Cuisine) and “Plantation House” (Authentic Creole style a la carte cuisine), Pirates’ Bar, Anse Bambous Beach Bar, Wine and Dine cellar with dining and tasting facilities, Island Museum, freshwater swimming pool and 25 active lap pool, rock gym and fitness trails, island boutique and gallery, chapel, “Castaway” kids clubhouse, childrens’ playground, marina with PADI dive centre and yacht club, island plantation and hydroponics and the Rock Spa with on-site apothecary. 

Indigenous Spa
Located on one of the peaks of the island, guests will approach the spa through a natural rock archway under the roots of banyan trees (steep walk up stairs). Incorporating nature’s elements: air, earth, water and fire (at night) the spa has various pools and rocks situated around the buildings that echo the natural local Creole architecture. The terraces have open-air stone baths and massage tables to enable treatments to be administered outdoors. An apothecary will make many of the remedial therapies on location from native ingredients and allow guests to choose their preferred treatment, seeing for themselves exactly how it is produced. The rock spa uses it’s own products with ingredients grown on the actual island. We offer therapies for ailments, detoxification, rejuvenation and revitalisation will be available.

Family offer & Castaway club:
The Castaway Club provides a wide range of adventure, sport & education. On arrival children ‘check-in’ to the club & receive their own passport & rucksack with various surprise items for survival & discovery. They explore the island, make new friends & learn new skills. Various eco-adventures in the forest allow children to discover the rare & special creatures of Frégate and learn the ways of the wild. A variety of other activities include basketball, tennis, rock climbing, kite flying & water sports. (Maximum two children per villa)

• Check out time is 12h00 on day of departure and check in time is 15h00 on date of arrival.
• Minimum stay is 7 nights during peak season 20 DEC 2008 – 07 JAN 2009
• Minimum stay is 5 nights during Easter period 04 APR – 18 APR 2009)
• Minimum stay is 3 nights throughout the rest of the year
• 1 bedroom villa can accommodate maximum two adults and two children up to 17 years of age.
• 2-bedroom villa can accommodate maximum four adults and two children up to 17 years of age. Minimum occupancy is two adults.
• As from December 2008 there will be 2 two bedroom villas. Villas 3 and 15 will have an extra bedroom. From 04 APR-18 APR 2009 the two bedroom villas are only available on request.
• Helicopter transfers are currently with a Bell Ranger (4 seater) or with Augusta (6 seater). Augusta is also air-conditioned and operates during day and night. A night supplement of Euro 200 is applicable per night flight and is applicable for flights booked from 6pm to 6am.

Itinerary: 7 nights

DAY 1: Fly from Johannesburg to Mahe Seychelles biggest island. Meet and greet on arrival and transfer to the Wharf Hotel & Marina (B&B).

DAY 2: Transfer to the airport and check in for your flight to Fregate Island, where you will be staying for 5 nights on a full board basis (including soft drinks).

DAY 7: Flight back to Mahe and transfer to the Wharf Hotel & Marina for the last night (B&B).

DAY 8: Transfer to the airport and flight back to Mahe. Check in for your flight back to Johannesburg.
