Mozambique: Inhambane: Flamingo Bay Water Chalets ***
Flamingo Bay Water Lodge is situated in the lagoon at Barra Point, even though the water is tidal the setting is magnificent, Flamingo has it's own restaurant, bar, lounge area and swimming pool. All chalets are air-conditioned with en-suite shower, toilet and basin.
At high tide you can venture from your chalet by ladder into the ocean below for a swim or to do some snorkelling. Golf carts will be available to take you from the main reception area to each individual chalet.
The lodge is situated on stilts on the crystal clear waters of the ocean. This eco paradise is home to flocks of flamingos, tropical fish and the very rare Dugong.
Because of the setting and exclusivity children under 12 years are not allowed.
Water chalets - The 20 chalets are spacious and well appointed with balcony, wide opening sliding doors and air-conditioning. The chalets and furniture are constructed from beautiful local hardwoods. Sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling and boating may be enjoyed directly from your chalet.
Main building - Set aside from the chalets and connected by wooden walkways is the main building which can be also be accessed from land and is fronted by the tidal waters of the bay. For those not wishing the walk golf carts are available to ferry guests between the chalets and the main building.
Restaurant - An elegant restaurant overlooks the inviting swimming pool, which merges into the view across the bay. The gourmet restaurant offers meals specialising in local Mozambique dishes including fresh prawns, fish, crab and calamari that are caught locally.
Bar - The well stocked bar is a gathering point attracting guests to share the days experiences in a relaxed atmosphere. An upstairs lounge area is a great place for relaxing and offers spectacular views of the bay.
Conference Centre - A spacious centre seats 60 guests comfortably.
Activities: Snorkel from your balcony, kayak, scuba diving, catamaran trips, charter boat fishing dhow trips, mangrove exploring, horse riding, water sports and quad bike trails (all activities are done from the nearby Barra Lodge)

- Flamingo Bay do not accept American Express, Diners Cards and Travellers cheques. Only Master and Visa Credit Cards are accepted.
- There is no beach at Flamingo Bay but the clients can swim at the Barra Lodge beach which is stunning and only a few kilometres away.
- A 25% non refundable deposit is required within 7 days to secure the booking.
Itinerary Flamingo Bay Water Chalets: 7 nights
DAY 1: Flight from Johannesburg to Inhambane with LAM. Transfer to Flamingo Bay Water Chalets, where you will be staying for 7 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
DAY 8: Transfer back to Inhambane and flight back to Johannesburg with LAM
