Mozambique: Bazaruto Island - Bazaruto Lodge ****
Bazaruto Lodge offers 40 “A-frame” thatched bungalows comprising: 13 standard rooms of which one is a family room, 23 superior rooms of which two are family rooms (one garden view and one sea view room) plus 4 suites (Bedroom and separate lounge), set amongst tropical gardens with magnificent views.
Every bungalow accommodates double or single occupancy and is equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, mosquito net, tea and coffee making facilities and private bathroom with enclosed outdoor shower.
The “Flamingo” is the only restaurant at the lodge and dinner is announced every night by the sound of African drums. It is situated in the main building and has a capacity for approximately 80 persons. Mozambican and international food is served both a la carte and as a buffet. Specialities are fish, seafood dishes and grills. Child menus are available and meals their can be arranged in advance. The Sunset bar is 0pen daily from 07h00 to 01h00, offering coffee, tea, international drinks, tropical cocktails and light meals. There is a convention centre at Bazaruto Lodge catering up to 25 delegates.
The resort offers a unique combination of beauty, security and relaxation that makes it the perfect spot for nature lovers as well as divers and sea sport enthusiasts. Outdoor swimming pool, game room, curio shop, pool table, table tennis, DVD and video room, business centre with internet access, library, baby sitting service and free shuttle service to Dolphin Bay.

Diving, medium and long distance diving, resort courses, rock, surf and game fishing, snorkelling, sailing boat excursions. Boat trips to the island of Santa Carolina (picnic can be included), wake-snake and water skiing, cobra-cat fishing boat and four-wheel drive jeep excursions.

22 Dec, 23 Dec, 27 Dec and 28 Dec 2010 - Children: 1-4 years of age stay for free on a full board basis when sharing the same room with the parents. Special rates apply to children 5-18yrs sharing with parents. Bungalows can accommodate an extra bed for children. Children in a separate room will be charged full adult rates for the first child and a discount for the second/third child.
- There is a 10US$ per person per stay Bazaruto National Park levy payable at the hotel.
Itinerary: 7 nights
Day 1: Fly from Johannesburg O.R Tambo airport to Vilanculos with Federal Air. On arrival you will be met by the Bazaruto Lodge representative. Check in for your charter flight with CFA to the Bazaruto Lodge landing strip. (30 minutes). Transfers from the airstrip to the Lodge are by Land Rover - an approximate 5-minute drive covering a distance of 1.5km. Transfer from the airstrip to Bazaruto Lodge, where you will be staying for 7 nights on a full board basis.
Day 8: Transfer back to Vilanculos and flight back to Johannesburg.
