General information for all travellers departing from South Africa
Please be advised that your driver’s license is no longer sufficient means of identification for check-in at South African airports. ACSA (Airports Company South Africa) will be enforcing this law with immediate effect. An identity book or valid passport will be the only form of identification acceptable for check-in.
E-tickets (receipt) With immediate effect, all passengers must be in possession of an e-ticket receipt. his should ideally be the printed page which contains all flight details, vendor locator & ticket number. There have been instances where passengers have arrived at the airport and have been requested to purchase another ticket as their ticketing details were not picked up in the system. Check-in agents do not work on the reservation system and in the event of them not being able to track your ticket number, you will be referred to ticket sales (passenger services) to get this information or be requested to purchase a new ticket. Having a print out of your e-ticket will eliminate unnecessary delays and frustrations. This often happens when new reservations are made for passengers who have existing tickets. Please ensure that you have a printed copy of your itinerary, vendor locator & ticket number to ensure a smooth and seamless check-in experience.

Madagascar
Madagascar Classic Camping - MCC (Southern Madagascar) "We are now over halfway through our season at Mandrare River Camp and all is going exceptionally well, over 360 bed nights booked for the year is better that we had expected, thank you so much for all of your support. As our first full year running has come and passed we have become more installed in the camp and our knowledge of the local area has improved dramatically.
On the Wildlife side all of our clients now see; Ring Tailed, Verreaux’s Sifaka, White Foot Sportive and Mouse Lemur (of which we have 2 species). The birding is also excellent, we have had a resident flock of Greater Flamingoes on Lac Anony since May and they have become used to us getting fairly close. In camp we have four species of owl, Frances and Madagascar Sparrow Hawks, Kites, Bee Eaters, Malachite Kingfisher, Sunbirds, Egret, Coucal and Paradise Flycatchers, to name but a few! We have seen three Verreaux’s Coua this season, however we hope to encounter more as the mating season starts with earnest in the next few weeks, we have seen a significant increase in bird activity in the last few days as they dogfight and set the pecking orders as spring starts.
Patrick continues to impress clients with his camp cooking and is becoming adept at catering for some bizarre special dietary requirements! Please ensure we know these in advance, particularly the stranger ones! We were lucky to have a French Boulangerie teacher from Reunion Island in camp a few weeks ago and he helped Patrick to make the bread and pastries even better than they were before! Several guests have asked if we could do a recipe book and this is something we are looking into for the closed season, watch this space!"
