Desroches Island lies 7° South of the equator and 240 km south west of Mahe. Desroches is part of the Amirantes Group of islands, a remote coral atoll. Desroches is the largest island of the group and is 6 km long and 1 km wide boasting 14 km of coast line offering a most idyllic setting. Flights from Mahe take only 35 minute and operate daily.

Desroches Island is the perfect place to relax while walking in the lush vegetation or taking a plunge into the depths of the clear, blue waters. It is the perfect honeymoon island!

There are 20 junior suites (52m²) in villas all with private terrace and sea views. All suites have king-size beds with mosquito nets, bathroom with an outdoor shower and a bathtub, bathrobe, bathroom amenities, hair dryer, air-conditioning, fan, mini bar, coffee and tea facilities, Satellite TV, telephone and safe.

Restaurant Le Veloutier: This is the main restaurant adjacent to the swimming pol with stunning views. It offers Creole, French and cosmopolitan cuisine. Regular table d'hote, show cooking and seafood evenings.

Beach restaurant: Kiosk with thatched roof, feet in the sand. The beach restaurant of used for breakfast buffets, lunch buffets and for intimate candlelit diners.

Bar l'Amirante: Overlooking the pool and the sea in midst of coconut trees, perfect to enjoy the sunsets.

Coconut Spa: Asian massage techniques with full body treatments, beauty treatments and reflexology complete your passport to health and vitality. Please note there is no jacuzzi or hamman. Only two treatment rooms.

Activities free of charge: windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, pedalo, snorkelling, floodlit tennis court, bicycles and table tennis.

Activities at a charge

Diving: own diving centre, Desroches is one of the best places to dive in the Seychelles. The surrounding area provides a myriad of unforgettable dives.

Deep Sea fishing: Visit the neighbouring Amirante Isles (Poivre and d'Arros) for your fishing adventure

Minimum stay throughout the year 3 nights and during peak season 6 nights (24 DEC to 06 JAN)
Cancellation fees 24 days prior to arrival 100 % of booking and 48 days prior to arrival 100% for peak season bookings (24 DEC-06 JAN!)
Baggage allowance 15 kg per passenger. Soft luggage is compulsory. Excess luggage may not be permitted on the flight. Secure left luggage facilities are available at Mahe International airport.

Itinerary - 7 nights

DAY 1: Fly from Johannesburg to Mahe, Seychelles biggest island. Meet and greet on arrival and transfer to the Wharf Hotel & Marina (B&B).

DAY 2: Transfer to the airport and check in for your flight to Desroches Island. Transfer to Desroches Island Resort where you will be staying for 5 nights on a full board basis.

DAY 7: Flight back to Mahe and transfer to the Wharf Hotel & Marina for the last night (B&B).

DAY 8: Transfer to the airport and flight back to Mahe. Check in for your flight back to Johannesburg.

Prices include

International and internal flights (departure from Johannesburg), hotel accommodation and meals as indicated, all airport-hotel transfers.

Not included

Meals not indicated, drinks, tips, personal expenses, travel insurance and airport taxes.

Specials:

Honeymoon special: valid 01 AUG-23 DEC & 07 JAN-31 OCT 2009. Minimum stay is 5 nights. 25% discount on domestic flights, a honeymoon cake, special arranged seafood dinner including a bottle of champagne, 30 minute complimentary massage per person. Honeymooners must travel within 8 weeks of wedding. Marriage certificate must be presented at check-in.
Long stay special: valid 01 AUG-23 DEC 2008 & 07 JAN-31 OCT 2009. Pay for 5 and stay for 6 nights on a full board basis. This special can be combined with the Early Bird offer only.
Early bird offer: 27 MAR-30 SEP 2008. For a minimum stay of 5 nights, clients will receive a reduction of USD117 per person per stay if reservations are received 60 days prior to client's arrival.
