Zanzibar - Kendwa Amaan Beach Resort **
Kendwa Amaan Resort is located in Kendwa, about two hours drive from Stone Town and the airport. Situated about one mile along the north-west coast from Nungwi, Kendwa is a haven for those that prefer a slightly quieter holiday retreat. The resort has been built in stages on a mild slope, with the reception area at the top.
Accommodation
The resort is set out on a rolling coral slope with a magnificent, expansive white sandy beach on the sea front. There are 21 sea view rooms and 18 garden view rooms.
- 10 Premium Sea-view Rooms sited on a cliff over the beach. These are spacious and well appointed with air conditioning, hot and cold showers and a choice of either two twin beds, or 1 double bed or 3 to 4 single beds in the family options. These are the most popular rooms at the resort.
- 11 Standard Sea-view Rooms - on raised platforms, about 2 minutes walk from the beach, offering stunning ocean views and panoramic sunsets. These have hot and cold-water showers, mosquito nets and window netting. There is no air-conditioning.
- 18 Garden View Rooms placed between the two rows of the sea view rooms and behind the standard sea view rooms near the reception. These have hot and cold-water showers, mosquito nets and window netting. There is no air-conditioning.
Due to its prime location at the north end of the island, the tide only retreats about 6m at low tide, so swimming is possible at any time of day. A coral reef lies about 20m off-shore, offering interesting snorkelling - trips can be organised by the hotel. Diving can be arranged from the beach.
The restaurant 'Titanic' offers Indian fusion and local cuisine. With well trained and vastly experienced chef's, the Titanic restaurant serves a wide variety of food covering all cuisines - oriental, continental and African. Open from 7.30am for breakfast, meals are served throughout the day. There is also a festive bar area on the beach - a welcoming meeting place under a giant Makuti structure facing the beach, from where one can enjoy the lapping sounds of the ocean.

Itinerary: 7 nights
- DAY 1: Fly from Johannesburg to Zanzibar with Air Tanzania. Transfer to the Kendwa Amaan Beach Resort where you will be staying for 7 nights on a bed and breakfast basis.
- DAY 8: Transfer to the airport and check in for your return flight to Johannesburg.
