Zanzibar - Hakuna Majiwe ***
Hakuna Majiwe Lodge is located in Paje, on the South East coast of Zanzibar, approximately 1 hour from the airport. 'Hakuna Majiwe', the local name for the hotel ground, means 'place without stones'. As individual as its name, this beach hotel has a special atmosphere and great ambiance. Set on a fabulous 6 kilometre white-sand palm fringed beach this is the perfect gateway to an exotic African paradise.
The hotel offers 20 rooms in beach bungalows, facing the ocean; 8 of these are family rooms; all rooms have en-suite bathrooms with hot water, wardrobe, double or twin beds with mosquito nets, ceiling fans and a spacious veranda. There is a safe at reception. Tea & coffee facilities are available in the rooms. All rooms are big enough for extra beds, thus perfect for families. The rooms have all been individually designed to offer style, comfort and personality.
The restaurant, facing the ocean, is situated under a large thatched roof which also houses the lounge and bar. Cuisine is a blend of Italian and African food, all the meals are varied and generous with fresh fruits and vegetables sourced locally, a large choice of pasta, meat, fish and other seafood.
The chef buys fish direct from the fishermen each morning. If you manage to catch a fish he will cook it for your dinner. The breakfast consists of a variety of juices, pastries, fresh fruits, cakes, eggs, bacon and bread. Ask for the spicy tea. The bar is well stocked with beers, a wide selection of South African wines, cold drinks and cocktails. Cocktails are served throughout the day and evenings. The bar offers a relaxed atmosphere for pre and after dinner drinks, accompanied by quiet chilled-out music.
Activities : A big swimming pool (27x11 metres) with fresh water, a massage corner and a boutique are other comforts available at the Lodge. There is a diving centre nearby.

Itinerary: 7 nights
- DAY 1: Fly from Johannesburg to Zanzibar with Air Tanzania. Transfer to Hakuna Majiwe where you will be staying for 7 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
- DAY 8: Transfer to the airport and check in for your return flight to Johannesburg.
Price includes :
International flights (departure from Johannesburg), hotel accommodation and meals as indicated and all airport-hotel transfers.
