Zanzibar - Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel *****

Located on the northern tip of the island, and protected by a coral reef, Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel is an ideal location for all forms of water sport, or merely relaxing.

All 32 rooms have en-suite facilities (including own shower, hand-basin & toilet), own balcony,
mosquito nets, split-unit air-conditioning, electric fans and hair-dryer. Lodge rooms (13) have a
garden view whilst Superior chalet rooms (12) have a sea-view and mini-bar. Superior deluxe
chalet rooms (6) have a mini-bar, music system, deluxe bathroom amenities, fruit basket on
arrival and other special touches. Higher categories of chalet room tend to be closer to the seafront, although all have a sea-view. The Ocean Suite (1) offers the ultimate in privacy and
luxury. With over 140 square metres of living space including a private plunge pool and sun deck,
this suite is Ras Nungwi's flagship accommodation unit.

Rooms can be configured as singles, doubles or twins, although requirements should be
confirmed at the time of booking. Triple/inter-leading rooms are only available in specific room
types, booked and confirmed in advance.

All rooms feature modern electronic safes, large enough for valuables including cameras and/or portable computers.

The hotels' on-site water sports centre is a five star member of the PADI International
Resort Association. It incorporates a PADI dive school, also offering snorkelling, dhow
cruises, kayaking, wind-surfing, water-skiing and professional deep-sea fishing. The
centre typically employs 3 to 4 scuba diving instructors and the centre is operated to the
highest levels of safety.

The cuisine is International with African/Zanzibarian influences. Fresh organic local
produce is used wherever possible. A half-board (breakfast and dinner included) meal-plan is followed. Special dietary requirements are willingly catered for with prior notice. Full service bar including excellent selection of cocktails and premium South African wines. The bar opens at 09:00 and closes when all guests have retired for the night. A newly built Beach Bar is open between 10:30 and 6:30. An English breakfast is served from 07:30 to 10:00 and comprises a large buffet with cereals, fresh fruit, breads and pastries, preserves and compotes, yoghurt, and eggs
cooked to order. An a la carte menu is offered at lunch-time from 12:30 to 14:00. A five course dinner (table d'hote menu) is served from 20.00 to 22.00. Occasional Seafood buffets and barbeque dinners are also on offer.

The Spa: Set in tropical gardens, the hotel's Peponi Spa offers an array of rejuvenating, pampering and holistic treatments to calm the mind, body and soul. Built with the use of natural materials and designed using only warm tones and simple lines, it provides a calming atmosphere in which to completely relax. Restful music and the subtle aroma of essential oils also add to our spa experience. Qualified professionals conduct all treatments.

A newly built flood-lit tennis is available from 1 November for guest use on a complimentary basis.

DAY 1: Fly from Johannesburg to Zanzibar with Air Tanzania. Transfer to the Ras Nungwi Hotel where you will be staying for 7 nights on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
DAY 8: Transfer to the airport and check in for your return flight to Johannesburg.
